Do you believe in the Law Of Attraction?
There are hundreds of books, celebrities, websites, courses and blogs dedicated to this topic. Is there something to it, or is it just hype.
I have always been a true believe of two things. You are what you eat and what you think. Everything we consume in our bodies is going to affect our bodies. Every thought that we have determines who we are and how we react to things that happen. We have control of both of these things and depending on what we do, it will affect our lives.
We are all just a form of energy.
The Law of Attraction says like attracts like. This relates exactly to my belief that you are what you think. The universe is full of energy, everything around us breaks down into molecules and atoms, including ourselves. If we are having negative thoughts we are attracting negative energy, positive thoughts, positive energy. When you start to worry about something, anything, it starts with one thought, but then another comes, then another. Then suddenly you are worrying about everything. What you send out to the universe, the universe will send back to you.
The Universe (or God, or Buddha or Divine or whatever you choose to call it) wants to serve us. We live in a world where there is an abundance of money, food, water, love and yet we do not all have it. Why is that? Who decides who gets what? We do.
We are the victims of our own choices.
Our choices, our decisions, our actions control our lives. If you don’t have enough money, a good relationship, the home you want, the career you want, you are responsible, no one else. You can blame someone else but the bottom line is we are responsible for our choices in life. Now not everything in life is a choice. You don’t choose to get sick, lose a loved one or perhaps get laid off. But we do get to choose how we react to these events. Our reaction (our thoughts) are what determines how we move on.
Ever dreamed about having a particular car. Perhaps you fancy that sleek black mustang convertible. You can see it in your mind, you can picture yourself driving it. You can feel the leather seats, hear the engine, feel the sun on your face as you drive with the top down. Its something that makes you happy, something you really want. Suddenly when you are out and about all you see are mustangs. Your subconscious mind is bringing them to your attention because it saw what you were thinking about.
Where to start:
Now, the Law of Attraction goes much deeper than this and this will be the topic of coming blog posts. This is just the tip of the ice berg and I will be sharing some of my own experience with you. If you are not familiar with the Law of The Attraction or want to learn more than I highly recommend “The Secret by Rhonda Byrne” to read as a starting point. This is where I first really learned abut the Law Of Attraction. There is also the film version which is available on Netflix. Read or watch or do both as I did. I have read and watched the movie several times to reinforce what I learned from it. It inspires me every time and I feel like I learn something new each time.
If you are skeptical when you pick up the book or sit down to watch, keep an open mind. Do not judge, do not second guess or make it over complicated because it is not. Take in what you learn, trust in it and try it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Remember if you approach The Law Of The Attraction with the thoughts of, this stuff doesn’t work, guess what? The universe will deliver to you The Law Of Attraction “not working”. It costs nothing to change your thinking and give this a try.
As you will see from The Secret, out thoughts are the start of change in our lives but to make the change happen we must also take action. As an introvert I overthink everything, all of the time, and many of my thoughts are not good ones. I have found that using the principals outlined in The Secret I have been able to start changing the way I think and almost correct myself when I let negative thoughts overtake my mind. It is a personal journey and one I am taking slowly but seeing a difference one day a time.
What do you think? Do you believe in The Law Of Attraction? Has it worked for you? I would love to hear from you.
